| Relinquishing Your Bird |
| If you have a bird now, and are thinking of donating him or her to CHRP, we would like you to think very carefully about it. 1)This is a PERMANENT decision you are making to donate your bird for adoption. Once you have decided to donate your bird, it is NON-REVOCABLE. You will not be able to get your bird back without going through the adoption process. It isn't YOUR bird anymore. You relinquished all rights to the bird. You will not be compensated for the bird or it's belongings. 2) Think carefully about why you are giving up your bird for adoption. Is it the bird or is it you? Have you done everything you can to adapt your schedule to make time for your bird? 3) What is your bird doing that is making you want to get rid of him or her? Once again, is it the bird or is it you? 4) Are you using a life change as a reason to give your bird up for adoption? Is it a reason or an excuse? 5) Is it just to hard or time consuming in your busy day to care for your bird? Or are you not organized enough to handle a busy life style and taking a short cut solution rather than addressing the problem? 6) Have you consulted a bird behavioral specialist to assist you in dealing with your bird? Have you tried reading books, research, asking your local bird store? Have you done everything you can to resolve your issues? If you answered these questions honestly and still want to give your bird up for adoption, Please contact us via email or phone and we will assist you in donating your bird. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! If you are abusing your bird physically or depriving it of light or food because it will not behave, PLEASE call us, email us, go to our friends at Feathered Follies, or go to ANY ANIMAL or RESCUE SHELTER and turn in your bird IMMEDIATELY! It is time for you and your bird to part company. |
